About Us
A Sanctuary of Devotion & Compassion
Founded in the holy pilgrim town of Salasar, our goshala has grown from five rescued cows to a home for over 520 Gau Mata.

From Five Cows to a Family of Hundreds
In 2008, near the revered Salasar Balaji temple, a small group of devotees began rescuing injured and abandoned cows from the roads of Rajasthan. What began with just five cows under a thatched shelter has, with the blessings of Balaji and the support of devotees, grown into Shree Balaji Goshala Sansthan.
We shelter cows that have been injured in accidents, abandoned after they stopped giving milk, or left to wander the streets in their old age. To us, every cow is Gau Mata — a sacred mother who deserves love, respect, and lifelong care, regardless of her productivity.
Today our 12-acre campus is home to over 520 cows, a free veterinary hospital, an orphan calf care ward, a Panchgavya products unit, and a vermicompost plant — a complete, sustainable model of Gau Seva.
Our Mission
To rescue, shelter, and care for every cow in need — injured, abandoned, elderly, or orphaned — and to provide free veterinary service to cattle across the region, treating each animal as Gau Mata with dignity and compassion.
Our Vision
To build a society where no cow suffers on the streets, where Gau Seva is a living tradition in every home, and where a sustainable, zero-waste model of cow care inspires communities across India and beyond.

The Heart Behind the Seva
Shri Gopal Das Sharma
Founder & Trustee
A lifelong devotee of Salasar Balaji, Shri Gopal Das Sharma began rescuing injured cows from the roads around Salasar in 2008. What started as a personal mission grew, with the blessings of devotees, into Shree Balaji Goshala Sansthan. His vision is simple: that no cow should suffer on the streets, and that every devotee should have the opportunity to perform Gau Seva.
